NVIDIA GeForce NOW for Linux Officially Arrives

NVIDIA's efforts to enhance gaming on Linux operating systems are increasing. The company announced today that the official, native port of the GeForce NOW cloud gaming service client app is out of beta and now available for gamers worldwide. With months of community feedback integrated into the official Linux release, NVIDIA has implemented many fixes to ensure performance is consistent with the Windows application. Officially, NVIDIA supports Ubuntu 24.04 LTS and later, but there is a Flatpak repository to help you get started, complete with official instructions on the download page. For those who prefer to use Linux machines for work and need an occasional gaming session streamed directly from NVIDIA's cloud rendering service, GeForce NOW is officially here.

Additionally, NVIDIA has optimized the Linux app so that DLSS 4.5 Frame Generation feels much more responsive without any hiccups or additional latency. Performance members of GeForce NOW will also experience much higher overall framerates, as NVIDIA has made server-side CPU performance adjustments, significantly enhancing the overall experience. These improvements are more noticeable at higher framerates like 120 FPS or high-resolution rendering like 4K. All of these improvements are made on NVIDIA's servers, so there is no need to update the application.
